Find out more about the garden on our Chelsea blog.
We’ve had to keep it under our hats for a while, but we are now allowed to reveal we had some special visitors to the nursery immediately after the busy Easter weekend, in the form of a television crew from BBC Gardeners’ World! Tune in to see the results this Friday, 9pm on BBC Two. The team from the BBC spent the day filming the plants we are growing for the Talitha Arts Garden, which will feature at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. The garden’s designers, Joe and Laura Carey of Carey Garden Design Studio in Norfolk are first-time entrants, and the piece will be focusing on their experience of taking part in ‘the greatest flower show in the world’. The crew also found the time to interview Katie’s Garden’s owner, Susie Davis, about the new alternatives to peat-based compost, as we continue to reduce our own use of peat on the nursery.
Fill your beds and borders with bargains!
To make room for new potting we have priced a large number of last year's shrubs to clear. Most are now just £2 - £5, offering savings of at least 50% and often much more! Replace your Hebes, add butterfly-friendly fragrance with Buddleias, find something for shade, get the Mediterranean look, pick up an old favourite, try something new. These are plants that will require some TLC: some might be a little wonky and all will appreciate going into fresh fertile compost with more room to spread their roots, but we are confident all should do well with the right care. You can also pick up savings online with our new Crate Expectations collections! Get a crate-ful of plants for just £10. Click here to see the current listings.
No need to book; supervised children welcome; drop in any time between 11am to 2pm each day.
Come and fill a tray with your choice of 10 perennial and fern plugs for just £15! For just £2 more, make use of our facilities and pot them up on-site - guided by our staff - so your plants are ready and raring for their next stage of growing!
The exception to the rule is if if the damaged material is rotting or mouldy. This could spread into healthy shoots and leaves, so is best removed.
The exciting newest feature at our Newbourne nursery: our mini Christmas tree plantation! Rooted trees available to buy in about 11 months time! |
